I was so eager to get off the drugs I was on for the past 12 and 1/2 years, I did a cold-turkey detox in Novemeber of 2009. I was on 60mlgs of Ritalin and 400mlgs or Lamictal and my vision, coordination, balance were awful. I also became psychotic and had a 'breakdown'. I never once attributed my declining health to the drugs, I just thought I had a 'bad back' and that it was causing all of these problems. I now realize that the drugs were causing my 'bad back', as well as all of the other difficulties. It has been 18 months and I feel like I am almost back to normal, but the withdrawal I went through was very very difficult and extrememly hard to endure. I was thankful that I was not working during this time because I don't think I could've functioned in the state I was in. I am much happier and feel all the emotions that were blunted by the poison. I wish I had heard the 'counter argument' to drugs before I allowed myseld to be drugged, I would have said no. A lady had her IQ tested before drugs and she had a 122, then after being on Lamictal for years, she tested at 90. They really do take an eraser to the brain, I just pray that there has been no permanent brain damage and that I can fully heal and get EVERYTHING back.
