I have been on methadone for 26 years. I was in 90 and went on 70 to kaintain, I have had clean urines and not used heroin since 1996. I am now finally on 10 mgs wuth counsellor that has never had anyone come off of methadone the slow way I have been doing. It has taken me about a year to come down but the lower I go, the more symtoms I have. Irratation, sweating and freezing, not sleeping are all symtoms. I went down maybe too fast but I am not stopping now, but have slowed down. I cannot afford the $400 per month and for years, I have only been going once a week with 6 take homes. I cannot afford anything. No help rom the government. No one cares. I was lucky to find a man thatmI was falling in love with and had to tell him the truth. That was October, 2008.
