I have a great idea. Instead of putting warning labels on pharmaceutical medications such as Oxycontin, Ativan, Methadone, Prozac, Ritalin or other billion dollar sellers, how about offering detox and rehab to their best clients?

Drug Rehab & Detox For Pharmaceutical Dependency

Currently, specialized detox and even alternative rehab programs for pharmaceutical drug dependence and addiction are often required for drugs like oxycontin or benzodiazapines like Xanax or Paxil.

Why not get the pharmaceutical companies that print billions of dollars in profits for the sale of addictive and dependence causing drugs to their customers to pay for detox & rehab? Why would I suggest such an outrageous demand?

Pharmaceutical companies are already making a killing from the sale of legal but dependency causing drugs. What would happen if they also could sell known and currently illegal drugs?

Pharmaceutical Companies Stand to Profit By Drug Decriminalization

Some of the biggest vested interests in the decriminalization and legalization movements are drug companies, pharmacy’s, psychiatric or MDs who would be profiting by increased drug proliferation. Giving addictive drugs to pharmacies or pharmaceutical companies to profit over would be like giving Rockerfeller his own money printing press and asking him not to use it too much.

What do you think the marketing and ‘research’ arms, the Psychiatric communities, of the Pharmaceutical companies would do if they were awarded dominion over a multi-trillion dollar potential business? I know, they would be restrained by their responsibilities to their share holders to keep profits down and share prices low – not!

Pharmaceutical Detox- The Cost of Neglect

Is it worth it to neglect to get properly detoxed after years of pharmaceutical dependency or abuse?

Let me ask that question another way. Do you know that some of the long term and later side effects of pharmaceutical drugs is Alzeymeirs, Parkinsons, depression, memory loss, and more?

What causes these long standing side effects, often experienced years after taking those pharmaceuticals? The role and action of anti-depressants is to prevent metabolic elimination or detoxification. Pharmaceuticals either speed elimination, prevent absorbtion, destroy or replace vital nutrients. Drugs also interfere with hormonal levels early or late in life which produce all kinds of emotional and mental imbalances.

It is important to understand that the pharmaceuticals create these imbalances, and subsequent problems.

The Cost of Taking Pharmaceuticals

I’m strongly suggesting you factor in the long term costs or damages that pharmaceutical dependence can place on your current and future well being. Most people considere the quality of ones’ life is more important than material wealth. I would take it a step further. Why does one strive for material wealth in the first place?
