Lorazepam or Benzodiazepine Addiction
Story: You’ve been following doctor’s orders to take 1 mg of Lorazepam or Ativan and 6 months or a year later you’re depressed. The psych or MD writes you a script for ant-depressants and you feel worse. He claims it’s normal to need pharmaceuticals at you age, young or middle aged.
You get the distinct idea that you’ve been hooked onto drugs by your own doctor! You’re mad and want to sue. The doctor tells you to just stop taking your meds or to reduce them and see how you do. You become more anxious, can’t sleep and begin to sweat and shake. You think your going through a flu or a horrible panic attack.
You’re doctor tells you that your adverse reactions to coming off or detoxing from Lorazepam or other benzodiazepines confirms you have a chemical imbalance and you really needed to be on the drugs. He raises the dose and the tremors cease, but you still feel awful and have poor concentration.
What do you do?
Do you admit you’ve got a dependency to Lorazepam or anti-depressants, maybe you’re even addicted to benzos? The longer you take pharmaceuticals the worse off you’re getting. Soon you don’t or can’t function well and you don’t look at all well. So you stop going out, people and social situations make you nervous anyway.
What’s happening to you?
Fact: You’re doctor has gotten you addicted or dependent onto benzodiazepine drugs. If the MD or psych put you onto Lorazepam, you’re taking one of the most potentially addictive psychotropic drugs on the market. Some say worse than heroin, as heroin withdrawals only last a maximum of 10 days and are usually over in 4 days.
Good News: Correct benzo detox is an amazing recovery process.
Yet, benzodiazepine withdrawals seem to come back for months and months after traditional benzo detoxs at medical clinics or after step downs.
Why?
Important: Lorazepam detox is a poorly understood detoxification process and most MDs, detox center hospitals and addictions doctors mess up Lorazepam detox. The problem with detoxing from Lorazepam is that the damage or toxic reactions of the drugs on the nerve cells tend to make the nerves hypersensitive to stimulation, any stimulation. Yet, this toxic reaction can be reversed!
The consequence of being stimulated chronically by the after effects of Lorazepam or other benzodiazepines, sometimes 24/7, is that you’re stress reactions eventually burn out all your reserves of nutrients and energy. You become a wreck.
Is there really something wrong with you? Like not right?
Important: No, not in the way you think. But there is something very wrong with your physical health and Lorazepam or anti-depressants is making it worse, actually these drugs are so toxic I could say they are causing your sick or chaotic condition.
Sue your doctor.
But what about you, what about your health? Your kids, spouse and family need you well. You need to get back on your feet and be functioning, especially in these chaotic economical times.
